4/7/2019 0 Comments Road Trippin?A couple of weeks ago I expressed a want to go somewhere “cool” with my husband. We talked about a few ideas and let the idea go. Then April 3rd, my husband woke me up early saying we were going on an impromptu road trip to Chattanooga , Tennessee. A place I had been but he had not, which is pretty rare. It only took us and hour and a half to get from Atlanta to Chattanooga. We came around a big bend and there it was... One of my favorite places to go as a child.
I remembered visiting there with my family as a young girl. The Choo Choo was an epic, beautiful place that my parents would save up to take us to stay. We would visit the aquarium, the candy shops, and most importantly, we had a favorite restaurant, Sticky Fingers. Sticky Fingers was a BBQ joint right in town and their food was so tasty. So, coming around the bend in Chattanooga, I knew I had to take my husband there. As soon as we got into town, we parked and embarked in a stroll to the restaurant. It was JUST NOW lunch time and we got there early so we didn’t have to wait long. I got a sampler platter and he got a rack of ribs and at that moment, I think he loved the place as much as I and my family had. After finishing up on our food, we walked out way throughout the art district and to Walnut Street Bridge. It was so fun and relaxing to hang out with my husband and to take in all the pretty sites. If you haven’t spent any time in Chattanooga , I highly recommend it. Single people have tons of bars to go to, families have so many attractions to visit in and around town, and anyone can find something fun to do there. Next time, I plan on staying as I did as a child but, for a quick, spontaneous road trip, it was a blast!!
