1/8/2019 0 Comments How to : Create Disc ShieldsHappy Tuesday!! I love creating things and always have. I get a concept then try to work on it as hard as I can for as long as I can. With that being said, I love photography and enjoy doing makeup as an art and often create looks for my blog along with social media. Recently, I designed a photography prop for future shoots and makeup looks using old, scratched, broken CDs. This project took me a while to complete to be honest. I was getting lost in all of the different ways to photograph it, to assemble it, and to apply them. There are really so many possibilities in my mind still. However, I didn't want this project to take too much time. (Although, like I said before... I was sadly incorrect to assume that in the first place.) I was quick to assemble all the broken piece in my life and by that, I mean all the scratched cds and a broken disc that I still had contact with. After I assembled the group of discs I grabbed a handy pair of tin snips from my garage and went to town with destroying and making tiny, shiny pieces to glue back together. Then I grabbed another CD and cut it in half. I used the two larger pieces of the discs then glued the smaller bits in a stacking manner by using a hot glue gun. After they were done I had to figure out how to apply them to my body. I could use prosthetics, spirit gum, other body glues, or a less traditional ”makeup”-y manner. My husband and I actually used velcro to apply my ”shields”. It turned out to be risky, quickly moved, and didn't work as well as we hoped.. But, that's why it was kind of perfect. I only needed the disc shields for the photography looks we wanted to achieve and those came pretty naturally. So, now, without further ado, here are the photos we came out with. 💕 if you create a look like this the tag me : @megzyttheog
